It has been called the world's best moisturizer and is considered by many to be a nontoxic (and affordable) dupe for Creme de la Mer. I discovered Weleda Skin Food about four years ago while shooting on location in the Dominican Republic. I was modeling swimsuits that day, and the makeup artist whipped out a little green tube and proceeded to apply the uber-rich cream to my thirsty skin. Within seconds, I had the most incredible sheen all over my body. To my surprise and delight, it didn't immediately absorb into my skin and I stayed nice and moisturized for the duration of the shoot. At one point the makeup artist even used a tiny dab on my cheekbones for a natural highlight. I was so impressed by Skin Food, I took a photo of the tube and bought it the minute I was home. At the time, I had absolutely no idea that this wonderful product was natural; all I cared about was that it worked better than any lotion or moisturizer I had used up to that point.
Today, I keep at least three tubes at any given time; one at my desk, one in my purse and one by my nightstand. I use it on my dry hands in the winter, as a highlight on my cheekbones, as an eye cream (huge money saver), and if I really want to indulge, all over my body-- though I don't suggest it as a daily body lotion (unless you dilute it) because you'll probably go through it within a week. If you're going to try any nontoxic, natural skincare product, Weleda Skin Food is one everyone should have in their beauty arsenal. I hope you love it as much as I do!
