To understand how special Vintner's Daughter Botanical Serum is, you first need to know the story of its founder April Gargiulo. While April is in fact a winemaker's daughter, her company's name, Vintner's Daughter, is actually named after her own daughter, with whom she was pregnant when she started to become conscious of the products and ingredients she was putting onto her body. April began opting for natural skincare, but was disappointed by the lack of efficacy and pervasiveness of cheap filler ingredients. And thus began her two year quest to develop the perfect "desert island product" she couldn't live without.
Growing up, April's fine winemaking family was very much committed to making the best product possible, without cutting corners; a principle she adopted when founding Vintner's Daughter. Vintner's Daughter Active Botanical Serum is made up of 22 nutrient-dense ingredients; comprised of whole plants and essential oils, sourced from only the most quality-minded and conscious producers in the world.
These ingredients have been proven to be effective in aiding in a wide variety of skin issues, and go through a weeks long process to extract the most active components. Whether your skin is oily, dry, acne prone, aging or sensitive; this serum is suited to you, which is why the company has only released one "hero" product to date. In fact, unlike most skincare companies, Vintner's Daughter encourages a minimalistic approach to skincare. April herself uses only a cleanser, exfoliating toner and Vintner's Daughter. Though the Active Botanical Serum does have a hefty price tag ($185), one could argue that there is much money to be saved by not having a 15-step skincare routine.
My two cents: I have been using Vintner's Daughter Active Botanic Serum consistently for nearly two months, and not only have I noticed a visible improvement in the texture of my skin, it has lightened dark spots, reduced breakouts and increased plumpness. I have never felt particularly comfortable leaving the house without makeup on, mainly because I've never really had great skin. But since adding this serum to my beauty routine, I have noted a marked improvement in the tone of my previously dull and blotchy skin (resulting in the need for less concealer), and a beautiful natural glow that I've only ever been able to achieve with a good highlighter in the past. To put it plainly, this serum has completely changed my skin. So, if you're wondering which product I would choose to take with me on a deserted island, this is it! ;)
